Below we outline the differences customers can usually expect when hiring a professional.

How Often Should Exterior Windows be Cleaned?
How Often Should Exterior Windows be Cleaned? Exterior windows can be tricky. When it comes time to clean them, you may feel overwhelmed thinking about removing the screens (and storm windows), getting out the ladder, and climbing around on the side of your house. Oh, not to mention the part where you actually clean your exterior windows! There’s no doubt about it, cleaning exterior windows is a long process. Fire Dawgs is here to help. Here are our guidelines to answer your question: “How Often Should Exterior Windows be Cleaned?”
How Often Do Most People Clean their Exterior Windows?
On average, most people have their windows cleaned twice a year. Twice a year is enough to keep your windows looking nice and prevent harmful buildup from obstructing your outside view and natural light. We love to offer great deals on window cleaning, so make sure to like us on Facebook to keep up with all of our promotions.
How much does carpet cleaning cost?
Our Indianapolis carpet cleaning prices start at $139. This price includes: Carpet Assessment, Pre-Vacuuming, HVAC Securement, Corner Guard Placement, Pre-Treatment with CRI Approved Detergent, Steam Cleaning, Deodorizer and Advanced Drying Technology. *Additional charges may apply to spots or areas that don’t come out with this method. Certified by the IICRC as Carpet Cleaning Technicians.
Do I need to move furniture for carpet cleaning?
Our technicians are not trained movers, so we ask our customers to make arrangements to move furniture prior to arrival. We realize some furniture is just too difficult to move so if that is the case we will work around it. If space allows with the furniture we can still clean the carpet under it as well, otherwise we will just edge around it. Learn more about moving furniture before carpet cleaning here.
How long will it take for my carpet to dry?
Dry time is affected by a number of factors. For one, the time of the year can make a huge difference on the humidity, temperature and air flow to the area. Using fans in any rooms cleaned and turning your air conditioning or heating system on, depending on the time of year, can help accelerate drying time. Opening windows if it’s a breezy day (and if you have screens that will deter any debris from blowing in) can also help. In the end, it typically takes anywhere between 4-6 hours for the carpet to completely dry depending on the aforementioned variables. Learn more about carpet dry times here.
What is the difference between a spot and a stain?
Spot – A spot is a discoloration on carpet, upholstery or fabric that can be removed fairly easily
Stain – A stain is a deep set spot that cannot be removed easily. Unlike a spot, a stain is usually incredibly difficult to remove and you should call a professional if you believe a spot has set too long and become a stain.

Do I need to vacuum before carpet cleaning?
Yes, we recommend that you vacuum before we come. You will receive a better, deeper clean if you remove the surface dirt and pet hair with your standard vacuum first.
What carpet cleaning method do you use?
Fire Dawgs uses the Hot Water Extraction carpet cleaning method. Our trucks are able to produce hot water at about 220 degrees. This allows us to clean in a constant manner which results in a better looking carpet for a longer amount of time. The powerful suction pulls up the deepest dirt along with allergens and stains.
Do you offer pet odor and stain removal?
Yes. Stains and odors are the hardest things to get rid of in carpet and upholstery and that’s why usually the hands of a professional are the only way to go.
Do you offer mattress cleaning?
Yes. With mattress cleaning we use all allergen free products and completely sanitize your mattress so that it is as good as new again. When cleaning a mattress we use a low PSI so that your mattress isn’t soaked and will be dry in no time.
The process is completely safe and effective. Mattress cleaning is recommended annually, however if you have small children that have wet the bed or pets that you let lay on the bed you should consider getting your mattress cleaned more often. Dust mites and other allergens love the humid climates associated with mattresses and those situations are all breeding grounds for trouble.
What spots can you remove from carpets?
- Nail Polish
- Pet Urine
- Permanent Marker
Some spots may not be able to be removed if they have set for a long period of time. We will always do our best and utilize all the tools and tricks at our disposal to remove any spot you may have.
Do you provide rug cleaning?
Yes. Part of extending a rugs life is taking good care if it. That is why Fire Dawgs Carpet cleaning is proud to also offer rug cleaning services.
Do you clean tile and grout?
Yes. “Carpet” may be in our name, but we know our way around tile and grout as well. We refuse to use outdated equipment which is why our safe, innovative cleaning process is top notch compared to the rest.
How much does upholstery cleaning cost?
Upholstry cleaning prices vary depending on both the size of job as well as the associated fabric. A large sectional couch has a different price than a single chair and a microfiber sofa will be more expensive to clean than a standard sofa. We have the ability to clean all types of upholstery so please give us a call and we would love to help you out.
