This client kept their larger items in the room. But the choice is yours!

Do I need to move furniture for carpet cleaning?

Our technicians are not trained on moving furniture, and so we ask our customers to make arrangements to move furniture prior to arrival. We realize some furniture is quite heavy. If arrangements cannot be made, we can work around it. If space allows with the furniture we can still clean the carpet under it as well, otherwise we will just edge around it. If you would like your furniture moved for an additional fee, check out our labor only services at Fire Dawgs Junk Removal.

Pre-Arrival Information and Tips

  • We also ask all smaller items such as floor lamps, magazine racks, chairs, plants, etc are removed prior to arrival as well as anything fragile or breakable. Removal of these items allows the technicians to clean your carpets faster so that you can get on with your day.
  • Some other helpful tips include pinning up long drapes off the floor as well as any skirts on furniture that is staying the room during the cleaning.
  • Once we arrive there will be a pre-inspection walk-through where we can give any final tips and you can let us know of any special instructions, such as specific spots and stains that you want us to treat.
  • Once the carpet cleaning is done, we recommend waiting at least 10 hours and making sure carpet is completely dry before moving furniture and items back onto carpet.
